Welcome to English Learning. Today we are going to explain some interesting expressions with the word “dog”. Our first expression is “to lead a dog’s life”. People in the United States love their dogs. They take their lovely dogs for walks and give them good food. However, dogs without owners lead a different kind of life. The expression, “to lead a dog’s life” describes a person who has an unhappy life. Another expression is “doghouse”. For example, a woman might get angry at her husband for coming home late or forgetting her birthday. She might tell him that he is in the doghouse. That means she may not treat him nicely until he says sorry. The last dog expression is used to describe the weather. The expression “the dog days” means the hottest days of the year.

    Halloween is becoming one of the fastest-growing and most widely-loved holidays of the year. Here are some fresh ideas for this festival.
You can create “Trick or Treat” Stations in your neighborhood. Each “station” can offer something different - one house can offer toy animals or insects, the next can have colored pencils, and the next a treasure hunt in the dark. And this could turn into a new neighborhood tradition.
When your kids come home with bags full of candy, buy it back! After a few days, it’s time for the kids to “sell” their candy to you for a toy or something they like.
If your kids are too old for trick-or-treating but still want to celebrate this fun holiday, host a scary movie night where everyone comes dressed in a scary costume. Let them try scary snacks like bloody pizza. It must be fun.
